Sylvia Mansour joins Russell Kennedy lawyers, CBRE bolsters its valuation team with Louise Venables and the Property Council’s Sandra Brewer joins the State Recovery Advisory Group in Western Australia.

Sylvia Mansour has joined Russell Kennedy in Sydney in the law firm’s property and development team. Mansour has a particular focus on retirement living, with experience acting and advising on a range of property matters including retirement village transactions for NSW and ACT operators, advising clients on relevant legislation and also sales and acquisitions of properties.

CBRE Hotels has bolstered its valuation and advisory services team with the appointment of Louise Venables. The former JLL Hotels senior vice president, Venables brings nearly a decade’s experience to the Brisbane-based director role.

The Western Australian government has established a State Recovery Advisory Group to provide advice on the impacts of COVID-19, and to guide the development of the State Recovery Plan. The Property Council's executive director Sandra Brewer has been appointed to the group.

Craig Faull has been promoted to WSP’s director of environment in Australia. Faull has worked with the consultancy since 2011 and has specialised in contaminated land management. The firm has also hired Jamie Maslen as its new national technical executive of asset management. Maslen, who has spent the last five years with Jacobs, will help asset owners enhance the resiliency of their infrastructure assets.

Melbourne-based commercial real estate agency Fitzroys has appointed Michael Ridler as a director. Now responsible for the growing asset management business, Ridler has held senior roles with Juilliard Group and JLL. Most recently he led Knight Frank’s Victorian asset management services business. Peter Weatherby, who has overseen the business for the past 32 years, is stepping back from his current role and will continue to be involved with the firm in an ongoing consultancy role.
