When I explain my role to people outside the property industry, I say… I am responsible for growing ICD Property’s pipeline of developments by securing new acquisition sites, meeting with new investors to raise funds for our projects and managing our global network of partners to ensure we achieve win-win outcomes for all our stakeholders and can sustainably continue to create landmark developments that stand the test of time.

My three daily work essentials are… Knowing Excel like the back of my hand; Giving myself at least two hours to read and think; and Taking comprehensive notes of meetings and thoughts.

The biggest lesson I’ve learnt in my role… Never compromise your position to get to an outcome. Instead, work your hardest to find win-win solutions that benefit everyone involved.

My career motivation is… Identifying opportunities in the property market and pursuing these to create win-win outcomes for ourselves and our partners that ultimately result in a timeless development that will positively enhance its surrounding community and the livelihood of its end users.

My advice to others considering a career in my field… The best way to gain knowledge is by trying things yourself. Try and fail and try again. That’s how you learn the way things are done best.

The building or project that embodies what I do… ICD Property’s City Tattersalls Club redevelopment in Sydney. This project has required the harmonious collaboration of several partners (such as ICD Property, the developers, our joint-venture partners First Sponsor, and the City Tattersalls Club itself) to be successful. This is my job in a nutshell. Collaboration, relationship management, and creating win-win outcomes for everybody.

What makes Bobby a Secret Star? Bobby is always somebody I have looked up to within the industry and ICD Property specifically. For his young age he has achieved a mountain of success, but he is never proud or boastful. Bobby never stops striving to achieve the best outcome for all of ICD Property’s partners and investors. I think his role is especially unique because it is one of the pivotal reasons ICD is distinctly different to its competitors and other developers. The fact ICD has an entire role and department focused on delivering win-win outcomes for all our stakeholders is one of the reasons ICD Property prides itself on successful partnerships.
